For Beaumont  Recreation Center

The City of Beaumont will continue to run the Provincial Restriction Exemption Program (REP). The program applies at all City recreation facilities, the BSRC, CCBCC, and the KNRRC.

At the end of last week, the Provincial Government made changes to the requirements of the Restriction Exemption Program (REP) for facilities / business operators, which have been updated on the following guidance document - https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/7cd02856-6cc3-4a3d-a47b-38205b224151/resource/b998bc19-5d6a-4f9d-874e-a17c0fc43333/download/covid-19-information-requirements-restrictions-exemption-program-2021-09-24.pdf

A significant change made that we want to ensure our user groups aware of, is under “Youth Activities & Youth Participation” - see below:

Youth Activities and Youth Participation

    • Youth participating in youth activities in a facility that is participating in REP are not required to be screened as part of the REP.
    • Parents who are required to support youth in their activities (e.g. parent and tot groups) would be required to follow REP requirements in order to attend.
    • Youth are subject to physical distancing at all other times when not engaged in the physical activity (e.g. locker rooms, common areas etc.)
    • Coaches, instructors, trainers, referees etc. for youth activities, who are 18 years or older, are subject to the public health measures or REP requirements in the facility.

This change now means that all individuals 18 years or older, even if for facilitating a youth activity, will require either a proof of vaccination, negative test result or medical note exemption from a doctor (For more information on the REP requirements please visit https://www.alberta.ca/covid-19-public-health-actions.aspx)

Given that it is a Provincial Health mandate, the City of Beaumont will be putting this measures into effect at all indoor recreation facilities (BSRC, KNRRC, CCBCC) starting at 5 AM on Thursday September 30th.

Please visit https://www.beaumont.ab.ca/644/Coronavirus-Information-for-Beaumont for more information about the Restrictions Exemption Program at our facilities.
